The founder of HAQ and the creator of the Queer Muslim Masterpost, Elias is a biracial genderqueer Muslim. As a mixed (white and indigenous North African) person with Amazigh lineage, issues of race, gender, sexuality, and the way these identities interact with spirituality are at the forefront of the work they engage in.

Vivien is a transgender Muslim woman. Being a mixed person of color and holding multiple ethnic identities, issues of hybridity and marginality are at the core of her work and effort.
Zakiyah (they/them)
Zakiyah (Z) is a nonbinary Black Muslim from Maryland. Drawing from their Nigerian-American, queer, trans, and spiritual identities, their work centers around community building and healing.
