Join For Ayşenur on Monday, December 16 at 5:30pm at Lafayette Square in front of the White House for a candlelight vigil to honor the memory of Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi. Ayşenur was murdered by an Isr*eli sniper while protesting in Beita, Palestine on September 6, 2024. Her killing reflects the violence of Zionism, and its threat to the broader fight for justice and liberation for Palestinians and oppressed people everywhere.
Ayşenur’s story is part of a larger struggle against systemic violence, fueled by the Israeli occupation and U.S. weaponry. As we mark 100 days since her murder, we echo her family’s calls for an independent investigation into her killing by the White House, Justice Department, and State Department, and demand an end to Israeli impunity.
We will be joined by members of Ayşenur’s family, congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, and local organizers as we honor Ayşenur’s legacy.
Please wear purple, the color Ayşenur was wearing when she was killed, and stand with us in the fight for justice and liberation for all.
Afterwards, there will be a Post-Vigil Community Gathering beginning at 7:15pm in the Edward Bunn Intercultural Center (ICC), Suite #241 on Georgetown University’s Main Campus.
